Modiac AV to DVD Converter is a free video converter. It allows you to convert your AVI video files into DVD movies. It should be noted that the application doesn't come with a DVD burner, so you will need a separate piece of software if you want to record the files that this app outputs onto a DVD disc. Other than the missing DVD burner and perhaps a complete video editor, this app comes with everything you need to convert your AVI file into a DVD movie. You can trim your videos and even add a menu to them, using the built-in menu editor.
In terms of design, Modiac AVI to DVD Converter looks like all the other Modiac converters. The magic happens when you click on "Advanced" on the main window, which is where you can change all the conversion settings and access the menu settings.
In terms of performance, the application also works very nicely. I converted a standard DivX AVI file, which I trimmed to a 1-minute clip, into a DVD movie. As a result, I got a bunch of VOB and IFO files. Under advanced settings, there is an entire menu dedicated to subtitles, so the app might let you add .SRT subtitles to your movies.
